Priming your coil or pod – Why it’s important and how to do it.
What is priming a coil?
Priming a coil is a process of pre-soaking your coil or pod in e-liquid before installing it into your chosen pod or tank.
How do I prime my coil?
- Remove your coil from its packaging
- Look around your coil for any visible cotton (around the side and in the middle)
- Apply drops of your chosen e-liquid to all exposed cotton around the side of the coil and in the middle of you coil (if using a closed pod drop e-liquid in the middle of the mouthpiece, around 10 drops)
- Then install your coil into your tank or pod
- Fill your vape up to the recommended level
- Let your vape sit for 10-15 minutes to soak in
(optional) You can also start use your vape on a lower power than usual and increase the power to your liking, this is called “bedding in a coil” and can also help it to last longer!
What are the benefits of priming a coil?
We prime a coil before using it because it ensures that all the cotton within our coil is soaked before we start to use it. If we do not do this, there is a risk of burning your coil during the first few puffs which would be a big waste of money. Priming a coil properly before using our vape can also help to prolong the life span of our coils.
